Virtual Workshop
Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) are a common feature of early careers recruitment however for many neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with autism, these assessments can present significant challenges. The abstract, hypothetical, and socially nuanced nature of SJTs often clashes with more literal or concrete ways of thinking, meaning some candidates choose not to apply to firms that use them, while others are screened out early in the process. Either way, employers risk missing out on exceptional talent.
If organisations truly want to attract and include neurodivergent applicants, their assessment methods need to reflect that commitment.
In this webinar, we’ll explore why SJTs can act as barriers and the specific challenges neurodivergent candidates experience. Individuals who have faced these barriers first-hand will share their experiences and how this has shaped their career journeys.
We will then move on to learn how employers can ensure that their assessment tools are barrier free. Martin Kavanagh, Head of Assessment at Amberjack, will share how his team has developed inclusive alternatives that assess the same skills and competencies without creating unnecessary barriers.
Martin will also examine real legal cases where candidates successfully argued that SJTs led to discrimination, highlighting the legal and ethical implications for employers.
And finally, we’ll hear from employers who have redesigned their recruitment processes to be more neuro-inclusive, and the positive impact this has had on both candidate experience and talent outcomes.
This session is ideal for professionals involved in designing or delivering assessment and recruitment processes including those responsible for candidate selection, assessment design, and early talent recruitment. Participants will gain practical insights, strategies, and examples to help ensure recruitment tools and assessments are genuinely inclusive of neurodivergent candidates.
