Disability career insight events

By 2030, up to 30% of UK university students are expected to have a disability.

These students are not a niche group but instead represent a large, fast-growing part of the student talent market. Through managing a disability, many develop exactly the capabilities employers value most: resilience, tenacity, problem-solving, adaptability and strong interpersonal skills.

Our Insight events provide employers with access to high-potential disabled students who are actively preparing to apply for roles. Students attend because they want to work for inclusive employers, understand how recruitment really works, and learn how to succeed with a disability in the process.

For employers, this means meeting motivated candidates earlier, building trust, and improving application conversion.

What participating employers gain

  • Direct access to talent
Meet high-potential disabled students through focused networking designed to drive applications and hiring.

  • Visible commitment to disability inclusion
Demonstrate how your recruitment process works in practice, including how candidates can request adjustments and access support.

  • Actionable data
Receive delegate contact details enabling targeted follow-up and pipeline building.

  • Clear ROI and insight

What the students experience on the day

The event opens with a welcome from the host firm, followed by a highly interactive programme designed to prepare students for real-world recruitment. Students will:

  • Learn how to positively position their disability in applications and interviews

  • Hear directly from disabled employees at your organisation through a panel Q&A

  • Build confidence through practical workshops on recruitment, networking and employer engagement

  • Understand how and when to disclose a disability with confidence

  • Gain a clear picture of what disability inclusion looks like at your firm in practice

It was great to see such an uptick in attendance this year. Also, there was a good mix of high calibre students with both visible and non-visible conditions.

The Future You event has helped to feel more confident applying for roles and much more confident that I will get the support I need to thrive in the workplace once I am employed.
Investing in Talent completely reshaped how I view my perspective and strengths it brings, and showing how employers actively value that diversity of thought.
Gaining an insight into disabled employees and how law firms support them was extremely helpful, it gave me the confidence that I can reach my career aspirations while being fully transparent about my disability.
I also wanted to share some good news, my role with J.P. Morgan has now been finalised, and I’ll be starting my new role in the new year as I relocate to London permanently.
Investing in Talent is an amazing opportunity to learn from employees from prestigious firms that support employees with disabilities. It’s an event that can help build confidence and to network with these employees.
Connecting with legal professionals with disabilities was an authentic and insightful experience. I greatly appreciated their openness and perspectives on managing such conditions within the industry.
