Celebrating 20 years of MyPlus

Windsor, UK - 30th June 2026

This year marks an incredible milestone for MyPlus as we celebrate 20 years of enabling organisations to become confident, inclusive employers, while empowering disabled students to pursue ambitious careers.

Founded in 2006 by Helen Cooke CBE, MyPlus was created with a simple vision: to ensure that having a disability or long-term health condition doesn't prevent anyone from having the career that they want to have. We want disabled individuals to realise their career ambitions and employers to benefit from the unique talents and strengths that disabled individuals can, and do, bring to an organisation. Over the past two decades, that vision has remained unchanged.

What began as a focus on helping employers recruit and retain disabled talent has grown into a trusted organisation supporting employers, universities, students and graduates. Along the way, we have launched the MyPlus Employers' Club and MyPlus Students' Club, expanded our work with universities, and continued to develop services that make the transition from education to employment more accessible for disabled students.

Alongside this growth, MyPlus has been recognised for its leadership and impact. We are proud to have achieved and maintained Disability Confident Leader status, and Helen has received a number of honours recognising her contribution to disability inclusion, including being awarded a CBE in the 2026 New Year's Honours List and being named in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 on multiple occasions.

One thing that has never changed is our commitment to keeping our services free for disabled students and graduates. We believe everyone should have access to the support and opportunities they need to fulfil their potential.

As we reflect on the last 20 years, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the MyPlus journey. Much of our growth has come through referrals, recommendations and long-standing partnerships, and we remain privileged to witness the success stories of the students and graduates we have supported. Hearing how increased confidence, expert guidance and the right opportunity have helped someone achieve their career ambitions continues to remind us why our work matters.

To our students and graduates, employer partners, university contacts, colleagues and supporters—thank you. Your trust, collaboration and belief in our mission have made the past 20 years possible. We look forward to continuing to create opportunities, challenge perceptions and support disabled talent for many years to come.
