The winner of this award will have brought this to life, showcasing their employer’s inclusive culture and the support they can, and do, provide.
Best Disability Speaker/Advocate Award; when employees feel comfortable speaking about their disability, it demonstrates that the employer is providing the right environment where employees feel supported. A culture of openness will allow people to bring their whole self to work. This Award will acknowledge an individual who has taken the courageous step to speak about their disability and recognise that it’s not always easy to do so.
Most Progressed Inclusive Recruitment Award; will recognise a company who has taken the steps to fully understand if they are barrier free for disabled applicants by objectively auditing their process through a disability lense and implementing the recommendations.
Most Successful Business-wide Engagement Award; to make real, sustainable progress in attracting disabled individuals to an organisation, MyPlus advises that the approach to disability must be firm wide. The winner of this award will have demonstrated they have engaged the firm as a whole, leveraging their resources and their people to better attract disabled individuals.
Helen Cooke, Founder and Director of MyPlus said ‘Since the launch of the Recruiters’ Club in 2010 it has been fantastic to see the progress that our members have made in attracting, recruiting and supporting disabled applicants as they bring them into their organisations. The MyPlus Recruiters’ Club ‘Disability Progress Awards’ are a way of formally sharing these success stores and recognising the real progress that some of our members and their employees have made in the increasingly important area of disability. In addition to specific firms for their progress, our award logo is another way that firms can market themselves as disability confident.’
MyPlus Recruiters’ Club provides employers with the knowledge, confidence and support they require to attract, recruit and develop students with disabilities or long-term health conditions. With different levels of membership packages available, MPRC members can take advantage of a calendar of events which provide the opportunity to learn about key issues, share best practice and network with others facing similar challenges, benefit from consultancy days and gain access to students by showcasing their business on the MyPlus Students’ Club website www.myplusstudentsclub.com.
