MyPlus launches Professionals Job Board for disabled individuals

Windsor, UK - 14th February 2022

Building on the success of the MyPlus Students’ Club student job board, and to address the need to connect employers and disabled professionals, MyPlus has launched a ‘Professionals Job Board’.

Since 2013 MyPlus has been providing career advice and support to disabled students via the MyPlus Students’ Website. Developed to help disabled students realise their career potential, the website also hosts company profiles from disability confident employers who advertise jobs and career events specifically aimed at students.

Students sign up for free membership to the website and many return further down the line to continue to seek advice as they progress their career. All the employers MyPlus work with to help become disability confident in student employment also have lateral hire requirements which they are keen to open up to disabled talent. MyPlus has therefore launched the Professionals Job board to address the need of both the employers and the student members, who are no longer students, and are now seeking their second or third job since leaving education.

The Professionals Job Board was launched at the beginning of 2022 to employers who are members of the MyPlus Recruiters’ Club and in the first month has seen 42 professional jobs go live. After the initial pilot phase, which offered employers free adverts, Recruiters’ Club members will be able to purchase bundles of adverts.

MyPlus know from their own research ‘Understanding how graduates search for jobs’ that disabled individuals will research potential employers to see how inclusive they are. The Students’ Club website not only provides them with this information about employers but also allows them to see job opportunities available with the employer all in the same place. Making the whole process for both employers and disabled job seekers so much easier.

Helen Cooke CEO of MyPlus said “One of the most frequently asked questions we receive from employers is ‘how can we attract disabled candidates to apply for our role’? We also regularly receive enquiries from disabled job seekers asking for help to find their next job. With the Students’ Club website we have a platform to advertise roles and we have a database of potential job seekers, so it made sense to create a new job board to enable disability confident employers to efficiently reach the largely untapped pool of disabled job seeking professionals”.
